Welcome to Native Dreams Day Spa! We are located in beautiful Alpine, Ca. We have been in business since July 2012 and have used a few skin care lines since we opened. We would love to share what we have learned in our time in hopes of leading you to a healthier, more effective way of promoting healthy skin.
The most important thing in using skin care is to have a licensed skin care professional analyze your skin and recommend changes or additional products or services to help you achieve radiant, healthy skin.
Often times, during a facial, the therapist may suggest a chemical peel. These peels are designed to remove several layers of skin to bring out fresh, healthier skin. They lighten the look of age spots, fine lines, help with acne, and give the skin an over all fresh start. The most common of all peels is a pumpkin enzyme peel (however there are many types of acidic peels and some go very deep to remove even more layers of the skin for deeper results). If it is your first time receiving this peel, the therapist may only leave it on for 2-3 minutes. You will definitely feel burning from the acidic active ingredients of the peel. A client who gets regular monthly peels can leave the peel on for up to 10 minutes. Once a chemical peel is done, your skin is extremely sensitive and you need to keep out of the sun. You may also experience burning sensations on your face for up to three days....it is only natural, you just chemically removed several layers of skin. You will often times see additional peeling of your skin for up to a week. With deeper chemical peels the peeling becomes very intense, so beware, you may need to stay in the house for 4-5 days. These peels can be very effective, but here is the dangers of chemical peels:
- Permanent Scarring
- Deeper Sun Damage
- Deeper Damage
Google Chemical Peels Gone Bad to see some effects of what could happen. It's NOT worth it!!!
We want to introduce you a healthier, safer alternative. It is called an infusion by Osmosis Skin Care. It is the first non-acidic "peel" on the market. Instead of wounding the skin, it gently resurfaces the skin by "feeding" the skin and encouraging cellular renewal. It is safe for all skin types and the benefits are:
- It creates substantial increase in fibroblast activity (a cell in connective tissue that produces collagen and other fibers) WITHOUT TRAUMA.
- No burning! Before or after!
- No sun sensitivity!
- Thickens the dermis (where aging occurs).
- Lifts hyperpigmentation.
- Restores capillary flow increasing nutrition to the skin.

We really like this form of a "peel" to offer to our clients because it truly is unique and effective. After we cleanse we apply this infusion to the skin and massage it in with a skin conditioner designed to help it penetrate deeper. We leave it on your skin, no need to remove it! But I will warn you, too much and you may leave with some orange residue on your face. (Just remove that with a warm towel.) For the best results, schedule an infusion with your monthly facial and began an at home skin care regimen.
TIP: When starting a new facial regimen, toss out your old skin care line. Chances are you have over the counter products or products that are no longer effective. Did you know your skin builds up a tolerance towards your products over time? So they become ineffective.
TIP: Always start out on the first level of a skin care line! If you try to jump into level 2 or 3 in a skin care line, the PH of your skin will not be prepped for the stronger ingredients found in these levels! This will cause major break outs and rashes and could cause damage.
TIP: Don't mix and match skin care. Stick with one line. Professional lines will be a bit more costly then over the counter, but the ingredients are better and the results more effective. Start out slow by purchasing one or two items each month that you go in for your facial. Osmosis cleansers start at $20! For such an effective and natural product the cost point really is affordable.
Hopefully this gave you some more insight as to what other treatments are available and be sure to share this blog with anyone concerned with proper skin care. Please email it to anyone considering a deep chemical peel!
